1972 flood

We had a great time last night looking at old photos from the 1972 flood. Steve gave a time line on the weather that created Hurricane Agnes, then displayed pictures shared by current and former residents and we all tried to identify what we were looking at and where it was. Some of the photos included a row boat on Main Street and firemen delivering milk to residents. True testaments of backbreaking labor and a community working together to help each other. It was thoroughly enjoyable and we encourage you to come down the next time we do something like this! Special thanks to John Babbitt, Connie Cole Knight, Jim Travis, Jim Hollenbeck, and Dean Warriner for sharing their photos.
