This week’s Garden of the Week belongs to Fred and Mary Voss at 96 Maple Street. Fred and Mary do the gardening and their daughter Jennifer decorates the porch. A very friendly-looking home, right in our village. Thank you Fred, Mary and Jennifer, for making Canisteo more beautiful and inviting.
The tent is up for summertime programs! Many thanks to the members of the Rotary Club plus library supporters who helped. Our first program is Thursday at 4pm when Police Chief Kyle Amidon will teach bicycle safety and give away helmets and a bike to someone who attends. Be there!
Matthew Streeter is very pleased after winning the bicycle raffle sponsored by the Policemen’s Club and hosted by the Wimodaughsian Free Library. Police Chief Kyle Amidon presented safety information for children and gave out free helmets as well as raffling off a boy’s bicycle. Thanks to everyone who participated!
Hey did you know that there will be a Clambake in downtown Canisteo Wednesday July 26th? Tickets are $25 for all you can eat, from 5pm to 9pm, and you can buy them at the diner and the liquor store. Clams, sausage, corn on the cob, potatoes, pasta salad….Mmmmmm….Sounds like great summer fun for Canisteo!
The Wimodaughsian Free Library is gearing up for the Summer Reading Program! We have all kinds of new children’s books and lots of new prizes! Starting July 1 children can pick up a reading chart to record what they read all week. On Fridays we reward our readers with prizes from our special prize box. Get ready to read with your children and keep them tuned in to get ahead in school!
This is the front of 32 Third Street, home of Tom and Caroline Wood. We needed extra photos to show more detail with the low-hanging leaves. The porch is so inviting, the plants kept so neatly, and the library books lawn ornament is perfect to us! Thank you Caroline and Tom, for keeping Canisteo beautiful!
